THE GREAT I AM (I AM, I AM, I AM)
“I was dreaming of Jesus; it was apparent,
and the vision of the Lord, saying, I AM, the one you’re seeking and searching for, for I AM, I AM, I AM. I saw the Lord wearing a cream-colored robe with a golden sash around the waist. He has sandy or brown hair. His right finger pointed upward, a smile on His face. Before that, I looked at the big feet wearing sandals with a shoestring attached.”
Later on, I learned this from books by Kenneth Hagin and Steven Brooks, who also had divine encounters in their dreams involving sandals on their feet. I dreamt of these twice when the Lord wanted to visit me in my dream.
I enjoy reading the Psalms because they reveal so much about God and who He is: “ I AM your refuge, I AM your Redeemer, I AM your shield, I am your buckler, I AM your tower of strength, I AM defender, I AM place of safety, I AM your fortress, and I AM your protector, I AM your rest, I AM your peace, I AM your salvation, I AM your shelter, and I AM God.
Essentially, God is saying, “Whatever and anything you need Me to be, I AM”! As you can see, God first revealed Himself as “I AM” to Moses when He called him to lead His people out of bondage in Egypt. God is the great I AM; He is whatever we need Him to be. Do we need deliverance from bondage? God says I am your Deliverer.” Do you need healing? God says I AM your Healer.” Do we need any provisions? God says, “I AM your provider.”
God is whatever we need Him to be. He is the great Creator, and He is the great I AM.
Exodus 3:7, 10, 13, 14, “I have surely seen the oppression of My people in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”
Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, “The God of your father has sent me to you. ‘ ” And they say to me, ‘What is His name? What shall I say to them?”
Then God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.”
Moses asked God a fair question because God had just told and instructed him to lead the Israelites and the entire nation of people out of bondage. Who would you expect Moses to tell who sent him? God said to tell, which says, For he who comes to God must believe He is. To be revealed “He is” makes perfect sense in the light of the fact that God told and showed Himself to Moses as I AM.
When God revealed Himself to Moses, He was the great I AM to Israel alone, but He made a new covenant with all humankind through Jesus Christ. The great I AM now lives in us. Emmanuel lives in us. God is with me. In John 17:21, “… that they may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; they may also be one in Us.” In the old days, before the Fall, Adam walked and talked with God in the cool of the day, but I can walk and talk with Him anytime because I AM lives in me.
