SPEAKING IN TONGUE
Now, this is the most supernatural, phenomenal, extraordinary, and fantastic process that I’ve been waiting to write. While in the other Christian denomination. I’ve never heard about this Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I was so excited to have it. It was not quick, even when I was born again when I partnered with the five-fold ministry. Even as a Christian, I had never heard this before about speaking in the heavenly language. I said, “Lord, whatever it is, I want to have what they have? The most profound signs, wonder, and miracles of being a Christian. I want to discuss more of these topics because it enlightens, encourages you, and has authority and power.
John 3:11 says, “ I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, We speak only of what we know (we know absolutely what we are talking about; we have seen what we are testifying to (we were eyewitnesses of it)….
In this section of this book, I would like to share my testimony of how I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and what it has meant.
When I heard this through these ministers, I said, “Wow!” What is this? I heard them many times through tapes and CD first until I met some of these born-again Christians in real. Kay was the first Christian lady from a Pentecostal church who prayed for me. This time, it’s truly a person in front of me praying in a heavenly language. I wonder if I can have it, too.
When you read in Acts 8: 5, 12. You notice how each one is mentioned in this scene or Scriptures explaining how the disciples preached the Gospel. Philip went down to the city of Samaria and announced the Messiah would be there. When they believed Philip as proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of JESUS Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
So, the people listened to what Philip believed, and then they were baptized with water. Afterward, “When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria. Upon their arrival, they prayed for the new convert or believers that they might receive the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit had not yet come on any of them. They had merely been baptized in the name of the Lord JESUS. Both Peter and John laid their hand on them and received the Holy Spirit. (v. 14-17) some emphasis mine.
Each of these experiences serves a different purpose. When it comes to the baptism of salvation, substantiate that our sins have been forgiven and that our home is in heaven. At the same time, water baptism is a declaration or certification of our identity as children of God. In my second water baptism in 2007, I received this on the date and the pastors who baptized me. We’re also a declaration in public as followers of JESUS Christ. At the same time, the baptism in the Holy Spirit provides us with spiritual power to minister or work to and serve others here on earth with power and authority.
As I explained, I came from a very traditional and religious background with different churches and various baptisms in the 1970s. The main reason I have never manifested any fruit of the Spirit in my life was that I have never received and taught of the Word of God. Although, all this time, the Lord was with me attempting to lead and guide me the best I would let Him. But, I learned that later on. Of course, I also have the right ministries who are anointed to teach and guide the followers of Christ. Also, I believe He kept me out of a lot of trouble that I would have gotten into. He has not been protecting me in the past years since I was baptized from the beginning because of my mother’s persistence. I may find it sudden and try to please her, but I am still thankful I started there.
As you read further in this book, I have this story about the “divine messenger” I didn’t know. Still, God used him to know about my God’s call, members of my family situation that can be solved through the Word of God.
Therefore, God and other fruits of the Holy Spirit, why shouldn’t we be excited about our relationship with God when I speak in SPEAKING IN TONGUE.
