FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing. Know that the Lord is God; he hath made us, and not we; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates thanksgiving and into his courts with PRAISE; be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations.” Psalm 100, (NIV)
I have a right to enter into His presence-My FATHER has invited me! I’m a frequent visitor; the sooner and more often I go in prayer, the quicker I see results! I enter His presence the right way- thanking, praising, and BLESSINGSHis name! His name is more powerful than any other, and it’s above everything! I don’t go in complaining and murmuring, and I go in the way that He said-knowing I’ll get a big YES!So, I say THANK YOU AND PRAISE YOU in advance, doing what He said and being thankful unto Him! I enter in total safety and security; his goodness, mercy, and truth are forever flowing to me and me! He is taking care of me and my family and children. Our future is excellent because we’re part of the divine covenant protection. It assures me when I confess, decree, and declare a thing. For it is established, done deal! It’s finished.
As JESUS said, apart from me, you can do nothing (John 15:5). One of the spiritual laws of receiving from God is entire dependence upon Him. Without faith, we cannot please God. It is the channel through which we receive from Him. Timothy 1:5 says, “As we only lean of the entire human personality in absolute trust in His power, wisdom, and goodness.” ( AMP).
The best way we can PRAISE, adore and worship the Lord is to have communion with Him and pay for regular communication and fellowship with Him.
1 John 1:3, “Truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” (NKJV).
God wants fellowship with us. John writes of fellowship and communion with the Father and the Son. In 2 Corinthians 13:14, Paul writes of fellowship and connection of the Holy Spirit. The communion of the Holy Spirit Himself refers to our fellowship with other believers and the Spirit Himself. Since the Holy Spirit lives inside us, we don’t have to go very far to have fellowship and communion with Him.
Think about that! The Spirit of God who planned out the universe is on the inside of you! He is the One who planned our the universe is on the inside of you! He’s the One planning your life. Do you think He can handle your car and house payment? Do you believe He can figure out how to help you and me to do works Jesus said we would do?
Indeed, He can. We must have communion with Him and fellowship, for we just haven’t been God-inside-minded enough to give Him full opportunity to deal with our issues in life. We’ve been more occupied with looking at what’s going on around us outside than we have with looking on the inside.
It’s what is on the inside of us that makes the difference! “Behold, the Kingdom of God is within you,” Jesus said (Luke 17:21). The Holy Spirit is IN YOU and ME! He is not anywhere or somewhere in heaven. He is. IN YOU! He is on earth as He is in heaven.
Perhaps an excellent parallel to describe fellowship is two people who live together, like a husband and a wife. I live in a house with my husband; we have been so close for 38 years! We are always close since we married. There were times when I went to the Philippines for a holiday just for a couple of days. Two weeks is very long, and I want to go home. We spent a lot of time in each other presence. However, we don’t always talk because I have been praying, studying, and reading my faith-filled materials since I’ve been on the Gold Coast. When I was in the Far North (Edmonton, Qld), he was reading books even until now. But I was busy in the garden doing my household chores or sewing with customers as a hobby. But we are always aware of each other. While we have a quiet moment, we also communicate a great deal. I talk to my husband a lot about things. He is a very quiet person, so I usually do the talking. We talk about the importance of things and the unimportant things. He does the same to me. When one of us speaks, I always do the talking not even a good listener sometimes, but he is good at listening.
In its simplest form, fellowship is about being together, talking, and listening. The Holy Spirit is with us all the time. As I mentioned, he lives in us and is never apart from us. We can talk to Him, and He will listen. And He will speak to us, so we need to hear.
One time at Hillsong Church in our area. The pastor’s wife, Elida, was introduced to us with other ladies in a ” Sisterhood circle.” I was new, and the others, perhaps so, were being introduced to one another. She has a discerning spirit. It was surprising to hear from her as she said, “Roselyn, the Lord is closer and closer to you.”
One Sisterhood lady came to me and asked. “Roselyn, how did you do it that you know the Lord and that you’re closer to Him?” I was very aware of what she had asked me out of curiosity. On the other hand, it’s difficult for me to explain.
Excerpted from the books of Roselyn Van Dyk available at Amazon.com. (Kindle Store). I interpret Elida’s statement. She can see something that others couldn’t see and me, illumination with light. But I could sense that I am aware that the Lord is present because I always spend my time with the Lord. I talked to Him in my prayer closet with the Bible and faith-filled materials day and night.
