Excerpted from the book of Roselyn Van Dyk titled “Experiencing the Presence of God- Discover how one soul found salvation, intimacy, and fellowship with God that you find He is real, true and valid that He is God Jehovah.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.” (KJV).
I have wanted to write this topic for a long time and would like to share it with you. The Lord gave me a fantastic prompting in the book of Matthew. We must hide somewhere in our sanctuary to spend time with the Lord. This prayer room, as I called it, a refuge, is a 10 x 12-foot room that has become a hiding place. As I described this in Matthew 6:5-6. (KJV).
5” And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”
This Secret, described as undisturbed, is helpful for a concentration of thought. You see, all of us should have a secret place with the Lord that is shut away from distractions. It is a place where we are undisturbed, can concentrate and focus, hear ourselves think, and listen to the Spirit of God speak. This is also the place where I can talk and pray. I am loud sometimes. No one can hear except God and me, for it’s a monologue and a dialogue.
Years ago. We had visitors. This lady has a depression issue. I learned that she even got in and out of the hospital for treatment. When they came, I invited her to tell me about her issues with her husband, who has drinking problems. At the same time, she was in my prayer room (secret place). She was restless or uneasy. She told me about her difficulties getting distracted by what she felt in that room. She said, “I saw the glaring light, maybe my eyes! I was surprised so she went out. I thought that the glory in my closet room was an illumination of light. She was referring to the Presence of God. I’ve never seen her, but her son told me she has been reading Joyce Meyer’s book since then. Can you see it? The Holy Spirit was touching her. She is a Christian but confused about where to attend Catholic and then Anglican. I don’t know exactly what happened to her, but that SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH.
