FEEDS ON GOD’S WORD DAILY
Our Heavenly Father has provided us with incredible nourishment from His Word, which is full of promises. He knows what our spirits are crying out for and has already responded to our need to be fed. The word should be the first thing you think about in the morning and the last thing you should think about before sleeping.
In 1 Peter 2:2, the Bible compares a newly saved person to a hungry newborn. Äs newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby.” AMP illustrates this even more clearly and says, “Like newborn babies, you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto (completed) salvation.”
The Word babe used in this verse is translated from the Greek Word infant and perfectly illustrates our need to feed spiritually hungry and thirsty with God’s Word. When we are born again, our newly created spirits need to provide regularly for growth. And just like a newborn baby cries out for regular feedings, our hearts should crave to know more about God through His Word. It is a normal process in our lives as Christians.
If you have spent much time around an infant, you learn to recognize their hunger cry. Changing the diaper will not be good; that’s not the problem. A hungry baby doesn’t need to be rocked to sleep or bounced in your arms. When they are hungry, there is only one solution: FEED THEM!
Once you begin to feed on God’s Word, it won’t be long before you discover that God does not expect you to grow up alone. In addition to His Word and the Holy Spirit nurturing you in the growth process, God has also given gifts essential to His plan.
WE NEED TO BE FED
We are provided with these wonderful Ministries as our teachers and mentors. We couldn’t do it to a newborn again, Christians.
“And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. Till we all come in the unity a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13.
When I learned this in 2005, the first ministry I partnered with was Joyce Meyers, Benny Hinn, Billy Graham, Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Jerry & Carolyn Savelle, Jesse & Cathy Duplantis, Creflo &Taffi Dollar, and other anointed ministers and Christian authors. I have never been inclined to know about the fivefold ministry, but God provides as being prophesied by Nong Tonio (Divine Messenger). The church never changed me. I couldn’t go to church every Sunday. Besides, it’s not enough to learn for one Sunday worship service.
This fivefold ministry team is called the executive branch of God’s government -ministry gifts are sent to enlighten and perfect the saints. Perfecting is defined as “complete furnishing” in Strong’s Dictionary. We need these precious ministry gifts, just like a baby needs to be fed by the parents and completely furnished with everything she needs to live and prosper. It helps us mature and is entirely provided by meat from baby milk.
Babies are lovely and precious, but no one should stay a baby. We must grow up and mature. The following verses make this fact very clear when they reveal the assignment and mission of God’s ministry gifts to the body of Christ.
“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. By speaking the truth in love, may grow into Him in all things, which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” (Ephesians 4:14-16).
God is a God of order. He has always had a systematic plan and purpose for every person to be perfect and entire, lacking nothing. God establishes the ministry gifts to enable us to grow up in Christ. It’s God’s plan for the body of Christ to move out of the baby stage and on to maturity. How is that done? One key is revealed in verse 15: “But speaking the truth in love may grow up into Him in all things.”
