THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH

THE SECRET PLACE

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust
.” (KJV).

I have wanted to write this topic for a long time and would like to share it with you. The Lord gave me a fantastic prompting in the book of Matthew. We must hide somewhere in our sanctuary to spend time with the Lord. This prayer room, as I called it, a refuge, is a 10 x 12-foot room that has become a hiding place. As I described this in Matthew 6:5-6. (KJV).

5” And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

This Secret, described as undisturbed, is helpful for a concentration of thought. You see, all of us should have a secret place with the Lord that is shut away from distractions. It is a place where we are undisturbed, can concentrate and focus, hear ourselves think, and listen to the Spirit of God speak. This is also the place where I can talk and pray. I am loud sometimes. No one can hear except God and me, for it’s a monologue and a dialogue.

Years ago. We had visitors. This lady has a depression issue. I learned that she even got in and out of the hospital for treatment. When they came, I invited her to tell me about her issues with her husband, who has drinking problems. At the same time, she was in my prayer room (secret place). She was restless or uneasy. She told me about her difficulties getting distracted by what she felt in that room. She said, “I saw the glaring light, maybe my eyes! I was surprised so she went out. I thought that the glory in my closet room was an illumination of light. She was referring to the Presence of God. I’ve never seen her, but her son told me she has been reading Joyce Meyer’s book since then. Can you see it? The Holy Spirit was touching her. She is a Christian but confused about where to attend Catholic and then Anglican. I don’t know exactly what happened to her, but that SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH.

Sometimes, I talked too much blah…blah…as if the Lord would say, psst! Listen to the still, small voice. I have something to tell you. He is a gentleman that also honors you. What is our agenda today, Lord? I am so in a panic about something that I forget that I am in the Presence of God in His sanctuary.  So, when I read the faith-filled materials from the five-fold ministries and other Christian authors’ sources with their anointing writing, I can listen to the still, small voice directing my path. When I study the Bible, I can pinpoint, as I can say, “spot on” the revelation knowledge and rhema (quickening word) about that moment. In other words, that’s the description of being in the PRESENCE OF GOD. Listening to CDs in the afternoon, such as portable walkman CDs, is so enjoyable. It gives me inspiration, encouragement, insight, hope, and confidence that God is with me. Emmanuel is with us-the Presence of God.

So, let me ask you: do you have a prayer closet where you meet with God? Most of the time, I read the Word of God in the Bible. I know I’ve been reading the Scriptures every time, but at that moment, it hits me. It is precisely that I need to know and listen to that clear message of that moment, as I call it, Revelation knowledge and Rhema Word-quickening word at the right time and moment to enlighten. The Lord’s Presence comforts, guides, and directs me, especially regarding pressure and adversity.

Do you have a prayer closet where you meet with God? One-on-one? It doesn’t have to be a closet. It can be any place you go to be alone with the Lord. Sometimes, before I shop for groceries or go to any venue, if I am by myself, I read the Bible and pray in the car. I can sing and shout Alleluyah! Praise the Lord on top of my voice. I ask the angels to sing with me in the car while singing along with the same song for a long time. No one will object. Although I may have my prayer closet, I couldn’t shout in combustion loud because I am not alone in the house. Or else my husband would say I went nuts. So, what I do is I have my little stereo that plays my CDs with mellow and soft spiritual music and other worship songs. For example, in Kenneth Copeland’s Worship Songs, Michael Smith, I got the big pop group of band singers I listened to when I walked with a Portable CD. But in a quiet prayer closet, I have the “Still”  CD album instrumental soft music as a background—”The Bride” by Terry Mc Amon. I had done this for a long time when I heard from Jerry Savelle to play music whenever he goes to the hotel room or during his prayer time in his closet, like inviting the good holiness in his room.

While driving my car, I still use the tape from Joyce Meyers’s worship songs, which Charles and Jill Le Blanc have sung for many years. It’s becoming a regular. That’s why when we bought the car long ago, we let it fit a tape recorder to continue this Worship Song tape so I could listen repeatedly. Unlike the CD, it might be like stretching, but I still use them. While driving home on a stormy night, I got lost when my husband was hospitalized. I was grateful to have this Worship Song in the car while driving home. Gladly to say, I felt I was not alone. Why? I felt angels surrounding me sing with me to find my path and reroute to the street where I was supposed to go. I know that the Presence of God was with me while driving alone in a stormy time. I have had this Toyota hatchback for many years. I keep it because so many miracles happened to me during the accident and miraculously saved me. It’s so anointing to tell you it is one of my havens and secret places to read the devotional books and pray inside this little cubicle of the secret of the Highest. Maybe one day, but I asked my husband to keep it. I talk and converse with God in this car called “Secret Place.” It means peace and rest.
